In December, domestic passenger vehicle wholesales in India witnessed a 4% increase, totaling 2,86,390 units, according to the latest report by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). This growth is compared to the dispatches of passenger vehicles from manufacturers to dealers, which amounted to 2,75,352 units in December 2022.
Growth Across Vehicle Segments
- Two-Wheelers: The domestic wholesales of two-wheelers saw a substantial rise, reaching 12,11,966 units last month compared to 10,45,052 units in December 2022, marking a growth of 16%.
- Three-Wheelers: Similarly, three-wheeler wholesales experienced an uptick, totaling 50,537 units in December, compared to 38,693 units in the same period of the previous year.
These figures indicate a positive trend in vehicle sales across various segments, reflecting potential recovery and increasing consumer demand in the Indian automobile market.
