BYD India has introduced the BYD Seal, marking the company’s third electric vehicle and its inaugural electric sedan in India. This release follows the company’s existing offerings, the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD e6 electric cars in the Indian market.
Price and Variants
The BYD Seal is priced at ₹41 lakh ex-showroom for the Dynamic variant, ₹45.5 lakh ex-showroom for the Premium variant, and ₹53 lakh ex-showroom for the top-end Performance variant.
Features and Specifications
The BYD Seal presents a sleek design reminiscent of the Tesla Model 3, offering bookings for the electric sedan. Notable features include a coupe-like silhouette, double-U floating LED headlamps, and C-shaped DRLs. It rides on 19-inch diamond-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels and boasts flush-fitting electronic door handles.
At the rear, the BYD Seal showcases a full-width LED bar, LED taillamps, and a black diffuser, complemented by a panoramic sunroof. Inside, the sedan features a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The seats offer heating and cooling functions and are electronically adjustable in 8 ways.
In terms of safety, the BYD Seal is equipped with eight airbags, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, ABS with hill hold, and more.
Performance
The Dynamic variant is powered by a single motor generating 204 PS power and 310 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 61.4 kWh battery providing 460 km of range. The Premium variant features a single motor producing 313 PS power and 360 Nm of peak torque, with an 82.5 kWh battery pack offering 570 km of range.
The top-end Performance variant comes with dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD), delivering 530 PS power and 670 Nm of peak torque, utilizing the same 82.5 kWh battery pack for a range of 520 km.
